RA Health Log Day 13

Day 13 of my Rheumatoid Arthritis health log. Yesterday I forgot to mention that my shoulders were stiff and tender after the flight, pain level around a 3. So this morning I woke up around 5:30 am, some tenderness still in the shoulders but went away shortly after getting out of bed, pain level a 1, just annoying. We started off the day with a walk to the local Starbucks, I had a venti Mocha and egg with bacon sandwich.

Next we packed up the Harley and headed to Las Vegas. This was my furthest ride so far on a motorcycle. We stopped around two hours after we left to get gas. It was good timing I needed to move, so I walked around for about 10 to 15 minutes until the pain dropped from a 4 to 0. Then we were back on the road for another hour, during this time I did have to lift my feet up to the bar around the bike. I also put my feet up on my boyfriends legs to relieve some pain. When we stopped at a rest stop I took 10 to 15 minutes to walk around, pain was around a 4 and dropped to 0.

We got back on the bike for the last hour of the ride. It did not take long for the pain to come back so for the last hour I did have to move and change positions to relieve the pain. Again when we made it to the hotel and I walked around for 10 or 15 minutes the pain dropped down to a 0.

After cooling down and showering, I headed to an event that had massages. I did enjoy the back massage after such a long ride. I did feel some tenderness still in my shoulders. This evening I still have some tenderness in my shoulders and hips, pain level around a 2.

At the event this evening I enjoyed a small turkey sandwich (1/2 of a croissant sandwich), cheese and grapes. I believe I drank four bottles of water there too! I know I needed it after the hot ride to Vegas, I felt a little dried out. After the ladies only event I met my boyfriend and we went for dinner with a few friends. I had beef tenderloin which was yummy!

My Rheumatoid Arthritis Stats
Rheumatoid Arthritis since Dec 2003, currently on Cimzia monthly, Meloxicam, Arava, Ambien CR, Vitamin D3 daily and B12 shots weekly. Also take Zyrtec for allergies. First remission was with Enbrel and Arava from April 2007 through September 2010 with a few bumps in the road (remission does not mean free of all pain, stiffness and swelling, but to me more like a headache once in awhile and not on a daily or weekly basis). No Prednisone since July 25, 2007
