Cimzia Double Dose

Yesterday was my loading dose of Cimzia. Two shots in the stomach.

Yesterday I went to the doctors to get my first dose of Cimzia for my rheumatoid arthritis. They did both shots in the office and I came home with an appointment in two weeks for the next double dose. We are going to wait to do the Vectra DA test again after I have been on Cimzia for three months. From what I have read on Cimzia’s website and on other websites where patients can report how the drug is working or not working for them, many see results in the first few weeks. Cimzia’s website has that patients see results in the first week or two to up to six months.

I am looking forward to it working, I am so ready to pick up my camera and go out for the day. It will be nice and I am so ready. I have been enjoying doing more the last couple months with the help of muscle relaxers. I have not had any in a few days so I can feel stiffness in my shoulders again. I am hoping to stay off the muscle relaxers and have the Cimzia do what I need it to do.

So I will update my RA Stats sidebar with the medication changes. No more Methotrexate or Enbrel. Currently it has “Rheumatoid Arthritis since Dec 2003, on Enbrel, Methotrexate, Folic Acid and B12 shots. First remission from April 2007 through September 2010 with a few bumps in the road (remission does not mean free of all pain, stiffness and swelling, but to me more like a headache once in awhile and not on a daily or weekly basis). No Prednisone since July 25, 2007.” Changing it to “Rheumatoid Arthritis since Dec 2003, currently on Cimzia, Flexeril as needed and B12 shots. First remission was with Enbrel and Arava from April 2007 through September 2010 with a few bumps in the road (remission does not mean free of all pain, stiffness and swelling, but to me more like a headache once in awhile and not on a daily or weekly basis). No Prednisone since July 25, 2007.”
